Bonjour!
Although we are in France we wanted to finish up our stories in Munich. After we rested and Kare wrote the blog we decided to go get some more Bratwurst at Oktoberfest... It was so intense there! We saw sooo many drunk people which made us both a little flustered so we got our amazing hot dog and left. We passed 5-10 people just taking a nap on the ground it was pretty funny.
We then went with the guys we met at the hostel that are going on that crazy 500 mi walk and went to get our last German beer. We have learned that a lot of people sing drinking songs loudly all over the place. So we decided to sing the National Anthem! It's a little long for a drinking song but when we finished some Americans sitting near us started chanting U. S. A.! It was hilarious! We finally went to the train station and said so long to Germany until we hit Berlin in the 2nd month of our adventure!
Paris is beautiful but quite a bit different than Munich. We got on our overnight train last night and popped some Tylenol PM and away we went. We woke up this morning and got off the train and proceeded to wander around the city for 3 hours looking for a hostel. I don't think we got off in the best part of the city since some lady asked us to watch her child for a few minutes... We were both carrying our too big bags up 8+ flights of stairs so it was quite an adventure. Once we got pointed in the right direction we were a little more aware, but not much! We finally found our hostel and dropped our bags and headed to the Pantheon. We grabbed our first meal in... well probably since we got here. :) Ham and Cheese Sandwich and a Coke Light.
First observation of French residents... A lot less friendly than the Germans. Kare asked if it was weird that she felt comforted by the sound of German and I said the same thing! The Pantheon was huge! And although we didn't take the tour inside it was gorgeous outside!
We're a little tired, I think the overnight train through us off. And since we participated in wandering around the city for the whole day... Our feet are sore and we decided we're going to have great legs when we are done with all this walking...
Tomorrow we plan on taking a free Paris tour which includes the Notre Dame, Louve, Eiffel Tower, etc. We think we'll go for a jog in the morning... It's colder here but it's so nice. It's definitely big and we're glad we had Munich first or we would have been pretty overwhelmed. We did make reservations for our Hostel in Barcelona, we have decided to skip Bordeaux and think we were being a little too optimistic about moving that much!
We'll be in Paris until Wednesday and we're going to take a day trip to Versailles on Tuesday which we're looking forward to.
Oh one more thing, we were watching music videos that were playing in the cafe' we ate at... Including 'I will always love you' Whitney Houston. We were cracking up! That's all for now. We love and miss everyone but we're too busy and tired to think about it!
Au Revior
